If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.
".......If you do not stand firm in your faith , you will not stand at all." Isaiah 7:9 (NIV)
Former President Harry S. Truman once remarked that no President of our nation has ever escaped abuse and even libel from the press. He noted that it was far more common than rare to find a President publicly called a traitor. Truman further concluded that the President who has not fought with Congress or the Supreme Court hasn't done his job.
What is true for an American President is true for everyone else. No matter how small a person's job may be , no matter how low he may be on a particular organizational chart or strata of society - there will be those who oppose him and ridicule him and perhaps even challenge him to a fight. That is why no person can conduct himself as if he were trying to win a popularity contest. Rather a person need to be compelled to chart the course he will walk and then to do so with head held high and his convictions in tact. It's simply a matter of taking life in stride, to recognize that every person will eventually face the test of ridicule and criticism as he upholds his principals and defends his morals.
No, being hit isn't abnormal. But. . . . collapsing from fear of a hit isn't inevitable Stand firm in and for your faith .. . . . and the Lord will stand with you.
