Dustin Tesdahl was a senior at Blue Hill High School, he excelled in History class and had alredy earned six credit hours from Central Community College. He sang in the chior, in junior high, which he attended in Hastings, he ran track, he loved weight lifting. Some of his aspirations were teaching, running for office and he had thought about being a minister. His favorite place to be was with his grandpa in the garage either making or fixing things.
Dustin Tesdahl was a student who took the bus every day -- and always waved to his neighbor as he was dropped off. Some people thought Dustin was the most cheerful guy that they had ever known. And he may have been the most cheerful guy they will ever know. He loved to "high five" people, that was kind of his signature. Friends are missing his high fives!
Dustin is survived by his mother, Teresa of Hastings and father, Floyd; grandparents, Jack and Patricia Lieb of Campbell; aunts and uncles, Janet Ejlersen of Beatrice, LaTRisia (Patrick) Stull of Lincoln, Shea Stull, Clayton Stull, Holly and Josh Leth and girls) Jacki (Rick) Kment, Cole and Quinn of Walton, Marius (Rhonda) Ejlersen of Sinclair, Wyoming (Ryan, STephanie, Evan, Jeramie, Josh); half brother and half sisters; and many friends; foster family, James and Jackie Kirchner, Jamie and Joseph of Blue Hill.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; maternal grandfather, Kenneth Ejlersen and Jean Bunger.
Dustin had some disabilities including Tourette syndrome but he wouldn't let it keep him from doing the things he wanted to do and striving to get the very most out of life. Even at the worst of times he seemed to have a smile on his face.
Leslie Alber Frazier taught Dustin her first year of teaching which was Dustin's fourth grade year. He loved to read especially he loved to read about world war II and frequently read books of 300 or more pages including the Harry Potter series. "He was very intelligent" she said. But what she remembers most about him is his positive personality and the innocent way he looked at life. He was someone who never said anything negative about anyone. "He looked at everything through a child's eyes" Alber said.
He regularly attended church at Calvary Lutheran Church at Rosemont with his foster family.
