16 from '79 Celebrate 30

The Blue Hill High School graduating class of 1979 held their 30 years class reunion in conjunction with the Blue Hill 4th of July Festivites. Members of the class met Friday night at the home of Dick and IlaMae McConkey where they decorated a float for the annual 4th of July parade. Those in attendance were Jim Wademan, Steve Hubl, Lori Goodrich Meents of Blue Hill, Starlett Premer Klute, Mick McConkey of Lincoln Mary Ostdiek Keslar of Grand Island, Pam Harrifeld Zbylut of Omaha, Melvin Alexander of Gretna, Sharon Willems Hartman of Columbus, Jeri Gingrich Fry of Gillette, WY Rick Kearney also from Wyoming, Janet Seeman Peterson, Joel Peterson of Rapid Cty, SD, Bruce Heidelk of Hawaii, Hilarie Alber Haack of Woodbine, GA, and Debbie Frahm Atkins of Des Moines, IA. Atkins attended Blue Hill schools through her 8th grade year. Joining the class on Saturday was Susan Matthews Hernandez also of Des Moines, IA. Prior to the parade on Saturday, the class met at the C/S/C and enjoyed a BBQ dinner. The Class float, honoring teachers as their American Heros, featured former educators, Vaden Lane, Bob Long, Duane Linneman, Larry Gianokas, and Myrtis Alber. The float, designed by Jeri Gingrich Fry, was awarded Best Theme.
