Tour the Meat Side of the Beef Industry

Many beef producers haven't been in a packing plant before. Many don't understand the final product (meat). Here is a great opportunity for beef producers! The Nebraska Beef Council has a tour planned from Kearney to Omaha for beef producers to gain insight on the retail and food service, new research, and what chefs are looking for. The Nebraska Beef Council will be sponsoring the “2009 Beef Producer Roundup” industry tour on December 2nd & 3rd, 2009. This is a great opportunity for beef producers to gain insight on the marketing of beef through the retail and food service channels and to learn about new research and other topics that affect the beef industry. The pick-up locations will include North Platte, Lexington and Kearney. Some of the stops include: Nebraska Beef Council and Cash-Wa Distribution Center, in Kearney, NE; Metro Community College Culinary Arts Center, American Foods Group, and Hy-Vee Foods in Omaha, NE; and Cargill Meat Solutions in Schuyler, NE. The tour is limited to the first 30 participants and registrations are due by November 13th, 2009. The only cost to the beef producer is their lodging on December 2nd and breakfast on the 3rd. To reserve your spot on the tour, please call the Nebraska Beef Council @ 1-800-421-5326 or email your reservation to: info@nebeef.org . For a complete agenda please log onto www.nebeef.org.
