Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) made the following statement after the Obama Administration announced it would delay enforcement of the employer mandate included in the President’s 2010 healthcare law:
“The decision to delay the onerous employer mandate reflects growing concern, even among its advocates, implementation of the 2010 healthcare reforms will be highly problematic and could cause significant harm to a weak economy. While I still believe full repeal of the healthcare law would be in the best interests of our country, I am hopeful this delay will lead the Administration to acknowledge the other significant structural problems of the law, and to work with Republicans to implement reforms to lower costs and expand access to care.”
