An Independence Day message

In 1776 John Adams wrote a letter predicting that July 2nd would be “the most memorable epoch in the history of America” and would be celebrated "forevermore"

When John Adams wrote a letter to friends in 1776 he predicted that the adoption of the Declaration of Independence would inspire Americans forever to celebrate the anniversary of the event.
Yes, for more than 200 years Americans have celebrated with pomp and parades, shows, games, bonfires, barbecue's and family gatherings in great anniversary festivals. But for how many years will this be true.
Who can imagine anyone would ever want to  undo what the founders have  done?
John Adams would  never have imagined that the day would come when he made that prediction that Americans would celebrate the day forever more.
In the last years the good the Founders have achieved has been diminished, distorted and their good names smeared by those who would change their image from visionaries to racists.  They are blamed for all the problems of the world today.  In the schools the youth are being trained to be ashamed of  America.
Schools across America are reprimanding students for displaying the American Flag in an effort not to offend foreign students, but these foreign students can display the flags of their country.   Students have been reprimanded for chanting "USA!!  USA!!"  because it is considered "incendiary language.  These same students can turn on the TV and watch the President of the United States traveling to foreign nations and apologizing for the mistakes America, as a nation, has made.

This year this administration has cancelled July 4th celebrations on several military bases due to alleged ‘sequester’ cuts.   The Administration denies our men and women in uniform the chance to celebrate, in the traditional manner,  the very freedoms they secure for millions of Americans.
Can this be anything but intentional?  Are they not making every effort to destroy the patriotism that has been woven into the very fabric of this country?

What is happening in this country is a disgrace, but it is happening because WE are allowing it.  WE have lost the spirit to defend our freedoms that the founding fathers had as they rose up against a government that refused to listen to the people.

I hope you enjoyed your freedom to celebrate this year, but unless there are changes,  John Adams' prediction of Americans celebrating "forevermore" may be proved false in the next few years.
