Mildred E. (Johnson) Hartman, 95, Blue Hill, Nebraska died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Grandview Manor Nursing Home, Campbell, Nebraska.
Services are Monday, March 7, 2011, 10:30 A.M. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska with Pastor Dan Cosson Officiating. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery, Blue Hill, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the Church.
Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00-8:00 P.M. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska and one hour prior to services at the Church. Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Nebraska is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred was born on November 12, 1915 to Henry & Susan (Lambrecht) Johnson in New Virginia in Webster County Nebraska. She was baptized in New Virginia Church in rural Bladen, Nebraska.
She grew up on a farm north of Inavale and attended grade school in Webster County at District 66 North Star Country School.
She went to High School in Red Cloud graduating in 1934. She married Albert J. Hartman on January 20, 1938 at Wray, Colorado and was a lifelong resident of the Blue Hill Area.
Mildred was confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Hill in June 1938. Together they raised four children: Rodney, Richard, Lonnie and Kathy.
She was employed at the Hastings Regional Center for 10 years as a ward aid and later worked as a cook at the Blue Hill Schools for many years. She was active in her community and her church. She was involved in RSVP, quilting groups, Good News Bearers and many other activities. She later moved to Westgate Manor in Blue Hill for several years and later to Grandview Manor.
She enjoyed cooking, quilting, crafting, sewing, painting and time with her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her two Sons: Rodney (Doris) and Richard (Joline), Blue Hill, Ne., one Daughter: Kathy (Dallas) Donscheski, Elba, Ne., one Sister-In-Law: Gladys Jungert, Hastings, Ne., eleven Grandchildren, eighteen Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a Son: Lonnie, one Brother: Norman Johnson.
