Blue Hill Population Grows
In the past 10 years, while most small towns in Nebraska were declining in population Blue Hill has managed an increase.
The 2010 Census numbers released Tuesday show an increase of 69 individuals, or 8 percent growth in numbers representing the population of Blue Hill. In 2000 Census numbers reported 867 people living in Blue Hill, by 2010 the population of Blue Hill has risen to 936 people. At the same time Webster County as a whole has declined by 249.
Other small Webster County communities, Bladen, Guide Rock, Red Cloud, and Cowles, all had decreases in numbers as did small towns in other counties.
However, some other area commnities that serve as "bedroom" commities for Hastings, those that are within easy commuting distance, such as Juniata, Doniphan, Harvard and Sutton had increases.
