Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) is encouraging high school students in Nebraska’s Third District to submit their artwork for the 2013 Congressional Art Competition by Friday, February 15, 2013.
“I am proud of the efforts and talents of all of the students who have participated in the Congressional Art Competition in previous years,” said Smith. “I hope more students will take advantage of this opportunity so the Third District can continue to share exceptional works of art with visitors to the U.S. Capitol from around the world.”
The Nebraska Art Teachers Association is working with Smith to coordinate the 2013 competition. Official rules, guidelines and submission forms are available online at: http://www.nebraskaarteducators.org/cac.html.
The first place artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Smith will display the runners-up in his Washington, D.C. and Third District offices. The Congressional Arts Caucus annually sponsors the Congressional Arts Competition for high school students from all fifty states, the District of Columbia and territories.
Students from Blue Hill have submitted entries to this competition in previous years and have done very well.
