Lt. Gov. Sheehy Resigns

 

 
(Lincoln, Neb.) Letter of Resignation (pdf) - Gov. Dave Heineman today accepted a letter of resignation from Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy.
In his letter, Lt. Gov. Sheehy stated, “I hereby resign the Office of Lieutenant Governor of the State of Nebraska effective immediately. It has been a privilege to serve you and the great people of our State as Lieutenant Governor.”
Sheehy was sworn into office on January 24, 2005. In 2006, he and Gov. Heineman were elected to their first full term in office and both were re-elected to a second term in 2010.
