Scott Kort involved in altercation at Red Cloud.

Scott A. Kort, (25),  of Blue Hill was detained briefly by Webster County deputies Wednesday evening after a scuffle with another Webster Co resident on the main street of Red Cloud.
Three members of the Webster Co. Pheasants Forever Chapter, Andy and Vicki Alber and Jeff Armstrong,  were in the South Bar following a meeting of the group in Red Cloud. They had gone there to pick up a sponsorship and ad for Pheasants Forever from the owner of the South Bar, Cody Minnick.   They were waiting on the information from Minnick when Scott Kort entered the establishment accompanied by Jesse Wentworth (23).
Andy Alber had been attacked by Kort previously several times.  He has had property damage at the hands of Kort. These events always happened when Kort had been drinking.  Korts demeanor and attitude  made it clear he was looking for trouble.  In a vain effort to avoid any confrontion, Alber and his group decided to leave the bar.
Positioning Andy Alber as far away from Kort as possible with Jeff Armstrong and Vicki Alber between him and Kort the three left the bar. Kort got up and followed the trio outside where he proceeded to physically attack Andy Alber totally without provacation.
Vicki Alber immediately called 911 asking for law enforcement to provide protection . Even though the South Bar is just a few block from the sheriffs office,  Alber said it seemed like a very long time before the law enforcement officers Diane Nichols and Brad Frey, arrived on scene.
In the meantime Kort attacked Alber and was immediately slammed to the ground by  Alber. Jesse Wentworth stood by and watched.
Alber held off Kort while waiting for the officers to arrive. Upon arrival the officers put Kort in the back seat of their vehicle while they took statements from Minnick, Armstrong and the Albers..
After the incident as the officers were investigating what had happened  Jesse Wentworth stood between the two responding officers, Officer Diane Nichols, and Officer Brad Frey, he ranted and verbally assaulted Alber . He shouted that he he was going to bounce Alber’s f** ing head off the concrete and crush his f**ing skull, He also told Alber that he wouldn’t be slammed around on the ground like Kort had just been.
In another county the threats made by Wentworth would have been considered assault as well as terroristic threats and action would have been taken, however, the Webster County officers took no notice. The officers did nothing to restrain Wentworth.  The officers did not detain  Wentworth .
After giving their statements to the responding officers the Albers and Armstrong left.  Wentworth ran behind Alber's pickup following down the street like an old dog,  ranting and shouting.
According to a statement from Sherriff Troy Schmitz Thursday morning the officers released Kort after Alber left the scene and a report of the incident including Albers and Armstrongs statements will be sent to Jerry McDole, Webster County Attorney, and the prosecutor may or may not proceed with any further action as he chooses.
Alber appeared at the Webster County Court House on Thursday morning to obtain a restraining order against Kort. He has twice previously been granted  restraining orders against Kort for similar reasons.
Scott Kort has an appointment to appear in Webster County court on March 16, 2012 for a “further hearing” on unrelated charges.
Scott Kort has a long list of recent criminal activity and charges but with little consequences because of the Webster County prosecutors reluctance to take action against him. He has, after all,  proven himself to be the dangerous individual he aspires to be.  .

It leaves me wondering why we pay for a sheriffs department. If two Webster County Deputies can stand right there and watch as a crime is committed and do nothing, what good are they?
We have a sheriffs department that is scared to arrest a criminal and a County Attorney that is too lazy to prosecute, how safe are we in this county??

They should put Scott and jeff and their Dad in the same jail cell and let them all go at one another and then maybe justice will be served.

It leaves me wondering how many times Alber will have to woop that little boy before he learns.
Is Kort that stupid??

Scott Kort is a product of a corrupt legal system. He has been allowed to do anything and attack anyone for so long that his misguided mind thinks that he is invincible. If this worthless County Government would have punished him in the past he might realize that he will not get away with his current behavior. Now there is no choice, he needs to be placed in state prison for a long stay so he is not able to attack any other innocent people.
He is like a disease.

THESE PROBLEMS HAPPEN IN LARGER CITIES TOO..BUT THEY DON'T GET AWAY WITH OUTRAGE LIKE THIS..

Scott is not only a product of a poor legel system, but a product of growing up seeing that violence is a good way to solve problems. He is old enough now to make his own decisions and we don't have to find any excuses for his behavior. If this story is reported accuratly I cant believe that the people in Webster County put up with this law enforcement. It also takes a big man to tell someone how they are gonna smash your head when the cop is right there and thay no they can talk all they want.

And we remember Ken Kort, Scott Kort's father still owns land in partnership with Jerry Mcdole. but that probably has nothing to do with the fact that there is no prosecution.
