 Christian Wake Service will be Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 7:30 P.M. at Merten-Butler Mortuary, Blue Hill, Ne. and Liturgy of the Word and Final Commendation will be Thursday, February 9, 2012, 10:30 A.M. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Blue Hill, Ne. with Very Rev. James Schrader Officiating.
 Burial will be in the Blue Hill Catholic Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 A.M.-8:00 P.M. at Merten-Butler Mortuary.
Merten-Butler Mortuary of Blue Hill, Ne. is in charge of arrangements.
Christopher was born on March 23, 1960 to Philip W. & Clara M. (Arterburn) Smidt at Hastings, Ne. He attended country school near Pauline and then Blue Hill High School.
He married Tammy L. Burton on September 24, 1982 at Hastings, Ne.
 Chris had worked as a construction worker, farmer and mechanic owning Chris’s repair in Deweese. They had lived in Deweese the past 21 years.
 Chris was a loving Dad and liked fishing, camping and hunting. He was a creative handyman.
 He is survived by his Wife: Tammy, Deweese, Ne., Father: Philip, Blue Hill, Ne., (5) Sons: Levi, Fairfield, Ne., Joe, Roseland, Ne., Louis, Fairfield, Ne., Dillon, Deweese, Ne., Elyzah, Deweese, Ne., (2) Daughters: Christian Smidt, Deweese, Ne., Chelsea Smidt,  Elm Creek, Ne., (3) Brothers: Michael (Audrey), Pauline, Ne., Matthew (Kristi), Auburn, Alabama, Joseph (Michelle), Kearney, Ne., (3) Sisters: Julie (Mike) Morganflash, Blue Hill, Ne., Vickie Bulling, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mary (Michael) Dixon, Hastings, Ne., (6) Grandchildren: Kyra, Dominic, Lucan, Camron, Samuel & Dakota. He was preceded in death by his Mother.
