May 2, 2011:
Washington, D.C. Congressman Adrian Smith (R-NE) today issued the following statement in reaction to the death of Osama bin Laden:
"This event is justice for the loss of nearly 3,000 innocent Americans in the vicious attacks of September 11th. The credit belongs to the men and women in our military and intelligence agencies who never gave up, prevented further terrorist attacks on American soil, and kept the fight off our shores.
"However, we must remember the war on terrorism is not over, and we must remain vigilant as our troops continue the fight to destroy and disrupt terrorist networks which threaten our nation. May God bless and protect those who serve in harm's way."
