Leonard M. Johnson
Blue Hill resident Leonard M. Johnson, 92, died Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.
Services are 2 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont with the Rev. Mike Stock officiating. Burial will be in Blue Hill Cemetery at Blue Hill. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday with family present 6-8 p.m. at Merten-Butler Mortuary in Blue Hill and 9a.m. to noon Thursday at Merten-Butler Mortuary in Blue Hill and one hour prion to services at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Hour.
Lenard was born September 7, 1917 to John D. and Hulda (Gragert) Johnson on a farm south of BlueHill. He attended Country school south of Blue HIll and then farmed with his dad until he was married. He married Viola Lydia Anne Magrin on April 25, 1943. They later started a dairy with the help of their sons. His lifetime hobby was farming. He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Rosemont, Nebraska.
He is survivied by his wife of 66 years, Viola of Blue Hill, NE; two daughters, Faith Nelson of Grand Island, Ne and Karen Torske and her husband Jerry of Holstein, NE; four sons, Neil and his wife Sue of Blue HIll, Ne, Dennis and wife Zola of Davenport, NE, Duane and his wife Dee of Grand Island,Ne, and Alan and his wife Connie of Blue HIll, NE; two sisters, Helen Nemecek of Minden, NE; and Lily Rose of Hastings, NE; 16 grand children and 23 great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Glenn Ray.
