Former Hastings resident, Ruth Caroline Shueey, 87, of the Blue Hill Care
Center, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at the Blue Hill Care Center.
Services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2012; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul’s
Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be
at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 20, 2012; 9
A.M until 9 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the
church. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Ruth was born February 3, 1925 in Kenesaw, Nebraska to Richard & Elfrieda
(Koepp) Einspahr. She moved with her family to Denver where she graduated from
high school and attended nurses training for three years. She married John L.
Shueey on November 4, 1945 in Hastings and he preceded her in death on June 3,
2008. She and John moved to Doniphan and back to Hastings in 1955. Ruth was a
homemaker and caregiver for the last seven years of her daughter's, Susan
(Shueey) Voboril, life. She was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and
the YWCA.
Ruth Caroline Shueey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John L.
Shueey, daughter, Susan (Shueey) Voboril, two brothers and one sister.
