Bobcats Break Nebraska Top Ten for All Classes

Max Preps at http://www.maxpreps.com/ has the defending Class C-2 Blue Hill Bobcats listed amoung the elite 11 man football teams statewide, regardless of class. After their season opening win against Cambridge, the Bobcats held on to their number 10 ranking in the Max Preps poll. The Max Preps rankings fo Nebraska can be viewed at; http://www.maxpreps.com/utility/about_rankings.aspx MaxPreps uses a computer program to determine team rank. The system utilizes the huge number of game results stored in the MaxPreps database. Generally, the more a team wins the higher the ranking, but the system takes into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule. MaxPreps is America's Source for High School Sports. MaxPreps aspires to cover every team, every game and every player by partnering with nearly 25,000 varsity coaches throughout the United States. The Bobcats also vaulted from third to first in the Lincoln Journal Star's class C-2 poll after both Archbishop Bergan and Hartington CC both fell in their season openers. Just for fun, Blue Hill Today has made an attempt at ranking Blue Hill's top ten football teams of all time. Our appologies to the 2002 & 2003 teams, but only 11-man teams were included in the rankings. The 2009 team will have to wait to see if they make the rankings. RE: the previous entry regarding other football teams with excellent records. In those years 1974 and 1975....they did not have state playoffs as yet.
