Anna M. Schunk 5-23-1915 To 4-20-2012

Former Blue Hill resident Anna "Ann"  M. Schunk  passed away April 20th at the age of 96 at the home of her daughter, Judy and son-in-law in Shawnee, Kansas. 
Funeral services were held in Blue Hill Wednesday April 25 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Very Reverand James Schrader and Very Rev. Valerian Bartek officiating.  Burial followed at the Blue Hill Cemetery.
Anna M. Schutte Schunk  was born May 21st 1915to Steve and Barbara (Krebsbach) Schutte.
Anna lost her parents to the flu epidemic of 1918.  She was raised by her aunt and Uncle, the late Mr. and mrs. John Beyke.
 She married married  Gilbert Schunk on June 21, 1938 at Lawrence. Two children were born to this union.
Together Gilbert and Anna owned and operated the Gambles Store in Blue Hill, later known as Schunk Hardware.  
Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Alois and Steve Schutte; sisters, Clara Kimminau and Ludvina Lemke.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Kenneth) Buschow of Shawnee Kansas; Son, Roger (LaRae) Schunk of Blue Hill' and  six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren..

Christian Biography of Ludvina Lemke
Ludvina Elizabeth Lemke, the daughter of Stephan and Barbara (Krebsbach) Schutte, was born on May 25, 1913 in Lawrence, Nebraska. She passed away on March 24, 2012 at Superior Good Samaritan Society at the age of 98 years, 9 months, 28 days.

Ludvina lost both of her parents in December of 1918 to the flu epidemic. She and her brothers and sisters were split among family members and Ludvina was raised by her aunt and uncle, John and Mary Krebsbach and their six children.

She married Albert Lemke on April 13, 1937 at her Krebsbach home. They farmed outside of Lawrence until 1960 when they moved into Lawrence. She moved into Superior in 2007.

Ludvina was a very ordinary but extraordinary person. She depended greatly on her faith in god, family and friendships. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, quilting, Keenagers and playing cards. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Albert, great-grandson, Kyle Egan; brothers, Alois Schutte and Steve Schutte and sister, Clara Kimminau.

She is survived by one sister, Ann Schunk of Kansas City, Missouri, son, Delbert Lemke and wife Jovita of Hastings, Nebraska, grandchildren, Deb Ostdiek and husband Tom of Superior, Nebraska, Mick Lemke of Lawrence, Nebraska, Sharon Egan and husband Mitch of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jean Janda of Hastings, Nebraska and Judy Lemke of Omaha, Nebraska. Great-grandchildren, Tracy Ostdiek of Superior, Nebraska, Wes, Kelly and Wade Ostdiek of Omaha, Nebraska, Nick and Travis Egan and Cody Janda of Lincoln, Nebraska, Amber Janda of Wichita, Kansas and Keith Janda,along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:30 AM from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Loras Grell and Father Brad Zitek officiating.

Music was "Sing With All The Saints In Glory", "Here I Am Lord", "You Are Mine" and "Amazing Grace" with Linda Ostdiek as organist and Marilyn Svoboda & Laurie Kohmetscher as song leaders. Lector was Marian Souchek, Altar Servers were Matthew Kimminau and Jaden Himmelberg.

Visitation was held on Tuesday March 27, 2012 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday March 28, 2012 from 9:00 - 4:00 PM at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior. Rosary services were held on Wednesday, March 28th at 7:30 PM with visitation one hour before at the church.

Pallbearers were Wesley Ostdiek, Wade Ostdiek, Cody Janda, Nicholas Egan, and Travis Egan. Honorary pallbearers were Tracy Ostdiek, Kelly Ostdiek, Amber Janda, Keith Janda and Kyle Egan.

Interment was in the Sacred Heart Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
