Thursday evening Jason Paul Soden, a 34 year old resident of Life Quest at Bella Amis in Blue Hill was transported to Mary Lanning hospital after stealing and wrecking  a car parked at the country store,  a gold buick regal belonging to Katie Poe.  The events were witnessed by several individuals who were in the store.   He struck a car belonging to Parker Trumble as he was leaving the convience store.  He then traveled south out of  Blue Hill.  He was followed by  area residents who called 911 to report the stolen car,   He drove south on 281 and turned west  on the gravel road by LaDonna Jesske's and rolled the car befor reaching Shane Meyers.   The Poe's car is believed to be a total loss.
The residents who followed Soden called the 911emergency line a little after 11 p.m.
Chief Deputy Ron Sunday of the Webster County Sheriff's Department said Soden lost control and wrecked the vehicle in a cornfield.
The Blue Hill volunteer fire and rescue department responded to the accident and Soden  was transported to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings with minor injuries.
Soden told officers he was just going for a ride and didn't know the person who owned the alleged stolen car.  It is believed that drugs and alcohol were involved.  .
Soden is a resident at Life Quest at Bella Amis in Blue Hill -- a mental health facility with a history of problems involving residents .
Deputy Sunday says he believes Soden knew what he was doing.
He has not been arrested, but is being charged with theft of a vehicle, hit and run of another vehicle, DUI and refusal to submit -- all felonies.

That makes me laugh!! Is it a surprise to anyone? Did we not have any warning that this type of thing would happen? I am not happy that it happened or who it happened to, but think about it, are you surprised?
No one in Blue Hill will ever do anything about the problems at Life-Quest. Everyone will be upset for a few days and then we will all just sit back and wait for the next time. If any of you really think anything will happen to the man that stole the car, you are a fool. We will all soon forget.
Andy Alber said things about Life-Quest, that were true but did not place a favorable image over the community, and you got rid of him. Now watch what Brenda Trumble says. Is she next? I have seen things from her published that are not favorable but true. Lets get her!!!!
Good luck, and we will talk about it again soon, when the next big thing comes out of Life-Quest.

Every time something has happened, people say something has got to be done, but then nothing does...we have got to get something done about this ongoing issue. These are not "little things" that are happening, these are major things that are a threat to our children & all the BH residents!

was he also charged with driving without a license, and willfull reckless?. Does it matter what he was charged with? Will the county prosecutor take any action against him? After all we don't want him in the county jail. Our jail is not designed to house the mentally ill.. Come to think of it neither is Life Quest, obviously.

It has been brought to my attention that there have been threats made to the staff and the residents at Life Quest. This is not the way to handle any situation. I am asking if you or if you know of anyone who is making the threats to plese stop immediately.
What happen Thursday night, November 10th is a terrible thing but there is a correct way to handle this and making threats is not the correct way.

Such unfortunate events happen in communities every day. Crimes and bad publicity result from the actions of all types of individuals; not just residents of places like Life Quest. Thankfully no person was harmed.
The results of this incident will be decided by law enforcement and the proper authorities. Until that happens, judgement should be withheld.

The results of this incident is two individuals ( or families) has lost their mode of transportation through no fault of their own.
The consequenses to the offender have yet to be decided. Considering the legal system or lack of a legal system in Webster Co. there may be no consequences.
The American system is a system of checks and balances. If one branch of the system doesn't work, the people have the right to seek recourse from another.
No one is required to sit back and take no action, have no opinion, withhold judgement about what they see as gross injustice.
Justice in this case would be that these two individuals/families would be put back in the same circumstances they were in before the November 10th "incident" also known to some of us as a crime, and person who stole the car and wrecked it is a crimial.
