I heard on the news tonight that the skyrocketing prices for corn is the reason that we are all having to spend so much money on breakfast cereal these days. Manufacturers of Corn flakes have had to raise the price of a box of corn flakes because farmers are getting so much for corn. Just thought you might want to know.

October 21, 2010 Rising food prices are coming to your breakfast table.

The Wall Street Journal reports General Mills will raise prices on about a quarter of it scereals as well as flour and baking mixes. It's expected to be a "low, single digit" price increase beginning next month.

The hike is blamed on rising costs for grain and other commodities.

The report says Kraft will also raise its cereal prices.
